Earlier this month, musician Dua Lipa became yet another celebrity denied the right to use her own image. Or, if you’re on the other side of the argument, she’s a copyright thief, benefiting from the creativity and labor of others without seeking consent or compensating them.

Lipa is facing legal action after posting a paparazzi photo of herself on Instagram. Lipa is the latest, yet not only, celebrity to run afoul of copyright law for sharing images without the photographer’s permission.
