Today’s installment from “Throwback Thursday” is not about a property, but about a “from Hutch” celebrity.

Aneta Corsaut was born in Hutchinson in 1933. The first photo was taken of her by her then-boyfriend and local photographer Pete Costello, here in town.

After high school, she majored in drama at Northwest University. During her junior year, Corsaut dropped out to pursue a career in acting. She began that career in New York City in the mid-1950’s.

In 1958, Corsaut and Steve McQueen made their film debuts in the cult horror film “The Blob”. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a TV career.

Corsaut first appeared on the long-running Andy Griffith show in 1963, as schoolteacher Helen Crump. The second photo shows that pairing. Corsaut played Helen Crump from 1963 to 1968.

She also appeared in roles in TV shows, Death Valley Days, The Blue Knight, Adam-12, House Calls, Matlock, General Hospital, Return to Mayberry and The Andy Griffith Show Reunion.

Corsaut died of cancer in 1995 in Los Angeles at the age of 62. Just one of several celebrities originally from Hutchinson.
