Connie Ferguson and Minnie Dlamini were some of the celebrities who honoured their fathers on Father’s Day.

It’s one of the most wholesome days of the year. A day when present fathers are reminded of just amazing they are and the role they play and continue to play in their children’s lives, right into adulthood.

Celebrities celebrated their dads and father figures by sharing heartfelt messages and reminiscing about all the times their fathers have proven themselves to be great men.

Here are some of our favourites.

Connie Ferguson says her father has been her biggest inspiration in life.

“Happy Father’s Day Papzoza! I thank God for your life! Thank you for being my biggest inspiration in all things life! Love you Pops.”

She also remembered her late husband Shona Ferguson, who died last year on 31 July due to Covid-19 related complications.

This was her first Father’s Day without him and she said her husband showed her that it’s not hard to be a good father.

“Miss you every day, especially missed you today! Thank you for showing that it’s not that hard to be a good father! I was blessed to parent with you! Always one of a kind! Love you forever.”

Minnie Dlamini said she had the best dad she could ever ask for and said it’s even greater knowing that good fatherhood runs in her family from her grandfathers to her eldest brother.

“It’s one thing to be blessed with the best dad I could ever ask for, it’s another thing entirely, to have that example from my grandfathers all the way to my older brother. My Mbova ozala uBaba, Grandpa Dan ozala uMa & my big brother @mapreezy. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers who step up and commit to raising their children. We are because of you.”
