Casper Comic Con announces 2022 celebrity guests – Wyoming News Now

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Casper Comic Con is returning for its fourth year, three celebrity guests have been announced for the June 2022 event: Sam de la Rosa, C. Andrew Nelson, and Alan Fernandes.

The two-day event will feature over 80 vendors selling comics, art, toys, and more. Adult and youth cosplay contests will be hosted, cash prizes will be awarded to winners of each group.

The Ford Wyoming Center hopes to see more people at the con after limited attendance during the pandemic.

“The very first one that we had we had over fifteen hundred people in attendance on a one day kind of show those numbers went down and varied over the last couple of years so we’re really hoping to build back up to that fifteen hundred to two thousand people again that’s kind of our goal,” said Ford Wyoming Center General Manager Brad Hopkins.

Sam de la Rosa had his first comic book credit in DC Comics’ Action Comics #534. He caught the attention of Marvel Comics after he finished pages on the Hercules Prince of Power Mini Series Issue #4. His work has led to years of regular jobs for Marvel, providing inks and finished art on a variety of titles.

C. Andrew Nelson is best known for playing Darth Vader in the special edition re-release of the original Star Wars trilogy. He has spent more time in the official Vader costume than any other actor.

Alan Fernandes is the only living Tusken Raider from the original 1977 Star Wars. He was also one of two animal trainers that worked with the elephant that played the Bantha in desert scenes.

All three actors will be available for photos and autographs, but these opportunities may include additional charges.
