As Post Malone’s wine launches in the UK, here are four other celeb rosés to pack in your picnic basket.

Post Malone's rosé wine has launched in the UK.

MAISON NO. 9

You’ve heard of celebrity perfumes, celebrity clothing lines — hell, there’s even celebrity sex toys now — but have you heard of celebrity rosés? Yes, they exist!

Why the trend for star-studded pink bubblies? For one, rosés are incredibly popular. In fact, according to WineEnthusiast, retailer Wine.com has seen rosés sales increase 350% year on year. In the UK, The Drinks Business reports that, in May 2020, rosé sales were up by over 400% at Waitrose.

And celebrity endorsements are a surefire way for wine brands to stand out in the alcohol aisle, says Wine.com’s Mike Osborn. “For these artists to put their names on the brand, or create a brand themselves … I think it’s a good way to get through the clutter,” says Wine.com’s Mike Osborn.

Over in the U.S., the options when it comes to celebrity rosé are pretty vast. Drew Barrymore has one, as well as John Legend, and even Instagram meme sensation The Fat Jew. And they’re all available in most major U.S. grocery stores. Sadly, here in the UK, our selection is a little slimmer, but no less delicious. And below I’ve selected five of the best in the list below.

Post Malone’s Maison No. 9

The newest rosé in the arsenal of celebrity bubblies is the American rapper’s offering. A blend of Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Syrah and Merlot, it is a dry and crisp rosé with notes of freshly picked strawberry and pear. The U.S. launch sold out all 50,000 bottles in its May 2020 presale — so fastest fingers first!

Jon Bon Jovi’s Hampton Water Rosé

Rosé truly is for everyone — rock n’ rollers drink rosé too. Just ask Jon Bon Jovi, who launched his iteration in 2018 in collaboration with his son and winemaker Gérard Betrand. Made in the Languedoc region of Southern France, it promises notes of citrus, red fruit and spice, and is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Miraval Rosé

This rosé of redcurrent, citrus, mineral and saline notes comes from Château Miraval, the Côtes de Provence estate purchased by Brad Pitt and Angelina. When news first emerged of their split in 2016, wine pundits wondered what would happened to the estate. As of 2019, they are apparently still fighting over who gets custody of the chateau, which is worth a whopping $67 million.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Rosé x Invivo

If one rosé were to live up to its girly associations, it would this one. After all, SJP is synonymous with Sex and the City. Launched in 2020, this rosé was made in collaboration with New Zealand based wine company Invivo. It’s a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah and is said to offer grapefruit, apple and nectarine notes. An ideal tipple for brunch with the gals.

Kylie Minogue’s Côtes de Provence Rosé

Nothing like a rosé from a pop icon. Made of a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle grape varieties, this rosé has aromas of pink grapefruit, watermelon and lemon blossom. Minogue’s line of wines — which include two rosés, a sauvignon blanc, and a merlot, among others — came about in 2017, over an alfresco dinner in Nashville while she was recording her album Golden. She tells The Times that she had a “fanciful moment of thinking I’d love to have my own rosé”. And now she has one! We bet it’s as iconic as the Princess of Pop.
